February Fair Fever!

It’s finally feb-fair! wohoo!!! For those who do not know what the february fair is, it is actually like the celebration of UP fair in Diliman.. Here in UPLB, we call it feb-fair!

This year was unlike any other that i’ve experienced.. So much issues with the admin that the students had to rally to actually have this fair possible. It was really an anxiety filled experience. It was a first for me to experience such pickets that the students had to make a human barricade at the UP gate. It was really nice to see that there are still a lot of people who are not apathetic and still care about the democracy of the student body.

So after a long day of picketing, (we started at about 10am and ended at about 6pm) the admin finally gave in.. But there are still some issues to be discussed.. But nonetheless, the greatest governing body of the UP system, prevailed!

By about 7 pm we were already allowed to build our booths (which is already very late because we usually put up our booths in the morning) and about 10:00 pm, we were done with building it.

We’re all very excited for the coming days! The february fair is something that any isko or iska shouldn’t miss. It is only the event where a whole lot of alumni come to elbi. It is actually the highlight of the school year. Most people save their would-have-been absences just for this ocassion.. But of course, we should never forget why there is a february fair in the first place.. and that is to commemorate the protest fair which happened in the time of martial law.

Funny

So i’m bored.. What’s new right?

Since i’m bored, i’m actually looking at other people’s profiles. Just looking at their albums and browsing through people who i think are interesting. So i came across some pictures with captions like “enjoying europe” or “in sentosa” or something like that… but all you can see in the picture is a close-up of their face. Wow. that’s kinda weird… more of funny really.. I mean why would you post a cropped picture of your face and put a caption wherein a scenery is required? just weird.

Oh well.. I guess boredom also makes me mean at times.

Lonely

Now i know that i am once again feeling lonely… Whenever i’d be frequently online on a certain website, i know that i’m having this solitary feeling again… Well, i’ve been online the whole day today and i still haven’t logged out.

I’m wondering why until now, no one still makes my heart skip a beat or all those electrifyingly-kilig-moments. Well, i guess someone did… But i won’t let it get into my head.. and most of all not let it get into my thing that has four valves and pumps blood to our body.

MacPorts problem solved!

I’ve been trying to install the jpeg library on my mac for sometime now. I manually tried installing it.. and i had lots of problems doing that! and i mean lots… i had to manually change header files.. bla bla.. and still to no avail. So i tried researching if there is an easier way to install it on my mac’s system… and i found the answer.. which is MacPorts! wohoo..

so i was excited to try it. so i installed everything needed.. but the prolbem was that whenever i’d try to run the install on my port, i wouldn’t work… i actually thought of reformatting my mac.. good thing i didn’t.. because i found the root problem.. and it was with my password! my kind-of non-existent password (which was basically a blank) and i changed it to something with characters.. and voila! my woes have been solved in under 20 seconds. i love macports! hehe

I miss taking pictures and feeling good about the pictures that i took… It’s been a long time since i held my camera and used it to actually take pictures. i’m always tired and lifeless these days. i just want to lie down.. or sit down.. and just be in front of my laptop.. surfing the net. i want my passion to come back to me.. how i wish it will.

Jobhunt

I’m watching the news now… and it’s all about how down the world economy is… Which is very sad. The reporter even suggested that students who will be graduating soon should already start looking for jobs. Errr.. But on the bright side, IT related jobs are the ones which have the highest rate of hiring. So.. I’m good! LOL!

While i was watching, my job woes once again surfaced. huhu.. Oh gawd. Well, i’ll just look forward to earning my own money and getting to buy the things i want with it..

Mac Trojan

Ok.. So i got my mac today right? and guess what.. after a few hours of using it, i already got a virus. now.. that’s not a classic for this isn’t windows. GRRR.. of all the things that i downloaded, i downloaded the one that has a virus.

So i researched and apparently, trojans are already capable of infiltrating macs. Not as powerful as trojans on windows, but a virus nonetheless..

I got the virus from downloading a torrent for photoshop cs4. The virus was actually contained in the crack and not the installer itself. (OSX.Trojan.iServices.B) grrr…. But it’s a good thing i found a website which has a freeware that removes the trojan (iServices Trojan Removal Tool - 1.1). So i still don’t have photoshop. So sad.

Oh well.. i guess i learned my lesson. Research first before installing anything. hehe.. So all mac users out there.. beware.

haha.. So DHL finally did it’s job and i got my macbook! weeh. i’m so happy. hehe.. i’m using it now to type this blog. LOL!

Well, i’m still not used to it. i’m actually still adjusting. i don’t even know how to make the open window full screen… and i’m still not used to not having a right click. haha.. but it’s all good! i’ll be installing photshop cs4 later. hehe.. and vmware.. and windows.. and aperture. weeh! hehe..

Waiting is really one of my hatest… uhm….action? or is it a feeling? hmm.. i really don’t know. Maybe both. But it would be weird if it would be considered an action because basically, when you’re waiting, you’re actually not doing any action. Ok. Enough said bout that. LOL.

Argh! what i want to say is that don’t ever have your packages delivered by DHL. they’re just going to screw things up.

I want my package to arrive already. huhu.. I thought it would arrive today.. but hell no. DHL apparently didn’t send it here… and it’s still in it’s place of origin. Really stupid. GRRRR!!

just wanted to vent and tell the world that people working at DHL are irresponsible.. aka jerks. (not all maybe.. but the ones in davao are)

Early Bird

I woke up at about 4:30 am today.. It’s really rare for me to wake up before 7:30..This time, i woke up at 4:30 am! hehe.. I really don’t have anything to do.. so i have been doing nothing too. haha

It’s quite nice to wake up early for a change. I actually wanted to jog a while ago.. But it’s really cold outside.. and i think i would get tired easily if i’ll jog by myself… But i would really want to try it sometime… Hmm… Maybe next week. hehe..

I feel optimistic with the coming weeks. I don’t know why.. But i just do.
